Eindhoven is a youthful and promising city. It is a city where technology runs through people’s veins and is ingrained in their DNA. Eindhoven is the centre of digital technology, the so called “Brainport” of the Netherlands.
Eindhoven is located in the south of the Netherlands, just about one hundred kilometers from the Dutch capital Amsterdam. Here 200,000 inhabitants live and work in a lush, park-like city, which for over a hundred years has produced inventions that make the everyday lives of millions of people worldwide more comfortable. Eindhoven is the cradle of Philips and of dozens of other international high tech companies.
It is also the city where innovative DAF trucks roll off the assembly line every day and the place from where medical technology finds its way to countries all over the world. Eindhoven is home to first class sporting facilities for football (such as the Philips Stadium), for swimming (the National Swimming Center , which is named after multiple Olympic champion Pieter van den Hoogenband) and for indoor sports like volleyball, tennis, judo, and gymnastics. Eindhoven is easily accessible by road, rail and air (Eindhoven Airport). Travelling around Eindhoven is easy by public transport, or of course by bike. The city is one of the leaders in Safe & Sustainable mobility.
